Here is some gore for you.

Oh Elyssa. What won’t you injure?

Here are some pictures for you.

This is an alleyway with a door. But you already knew that.
Apparently someone spilled some oil here and someone else took a picture of it. I am one of those someones but not the other.
This is Nick walking in a city strangely denuded of any colour but red.
Self-referential.
A long time ago there was a fire on a pink wall, which I think may be nature’s way of saying that pink walls are extremely ugly and should be destroyed. With fire.
These kids nowadays with their spraypaint and fancy-pants ideas!
This is Nick again. But he doesn’t really love Felicia. He loves someone else or something.
An attrocious building stands in Hamilton, and said building is the colour of death.
Go to jail. Go directly to jail. But this isn’t jail, so try again, thanks.
Sweet, sweet love. Ah, how it resonates in my soul. Also, I want a coffee.
They built a child’s ride around this magnificent statue. FOR SHAME!

Nick Guestblogs…
Chris on Nov 26th 2005
Hi, my name is Nick. Daniel and I have been friends for a long while, and one of the things we do from time to time is take pictures. Here are some of the pictures I have taken that relate to both Daniel and myself. Both he and I are in them, as well as his sisters.

Various and sundry sights.
daniel on Nov 14th 2005
This is anachronous me. I’m a little twisted that way.
This is a windmill. Above it is sky. Above that, “above” loses its frame of reference.
This is the sky as the sun is either going down or coming up. Either way, the sun is there, and the ocean is there, and there’s a beach and some such.
These are seals. Or, as my sister Becka would say, “sharks”. No, Becka, those aren’t sharks.
Here we have two windmills, a cliff, the ocean, and the everpresent sky. Note the blueness of that sky.
Apparently this large red thing pokes up from the ocean at some point. Geez. Someone tell those easterners how to landscape.
This is a moose. Don’t worry, moose can’t eat you. Also, it’s just a picture.
This is my little brother and sister. They’re still slightly androgenous, so if I told you they were both girls or some sort of hairless hamster, you probably wouldn’t know.
This is another sister of mine, and by all impartial metrics, she’s good looking.
This is Becka, the one that thinks seals are sharks.
Lisa is the only one of us that is married, due to the fact that she can suck milk up her nose and shoot it out of her eye. Alright, I made that up. But what a great reason to get married!

Some more photography of mine.
daniel on Oct 5th 2005
As I’ve spent a little more time with The GIMP, I’ve figured out how to get it to do all those things that PhotoPaint could do, and a few more that I’d never really wanted to know before but find enormously useful now. Like paths. I’d never used paths before, believe it or not.
So, in the spirit of using our good Open Source friends, I’ve decided to monkey around with a few of my – for some odd reason – leftover photos from the other evening. The results are… delightful.
Again, these images are not for the broadband-challenged. Unless you like looking at the thumbnails. Nothing wrong with that. Think small!
Other: What might grass be like… if it were purple?
Speckled: Rust isn’t really this colour, for your information.
Rust: This is probably one of my favorite pictures that I’ve ever taken.
Fall: For the record, this picture was very, very dark before I got my photo-editing fingers on it.
Blue: Not much blue in nature. Until now.
Cobain: What better way to celebrate Kurt than with oddly-coloured rust?

Some photography of mine.
daniel on Oct 3rd 2005
Tonight I took the camera out, and what did I do? That’s right, I took pictures. I present for your consideration my little consort with nature. Beware if you will that these are not for the broadband-impaired. They’re big.
Also, one thing that must be noted: aside from some minor colour correction, these images have not been cropped, resized, edited, or changed from the originals.
Imperfection: The earth groans with us; the flowers of the field crumble petal by petal.
Contrast: This is not our home. We don’t belong here.
Ancient: That sky will remain long after our dust is scattered.
Wood: Something about growth and grain. Something about shooting branches in the wild.
Exception: It isn’t a virtue to break moulds; nor is it a curse.
Towers: Athens. Rome. Babylon. New York. Mississauga.
Herd: We have been here.
Rush: Frayed at the corners. Frantic. Afraid of everything. Lost. Rushed. Coming apart at the seams.
