The Bucks

Tonight at Starbucks, this guy I often see sketching and writing there was pianting right in the middle of the shop. Utterly the coolest thing I’ve seen in a long time – and he was good! At least as far as I can tell. I’m no art critic. I’ve never been able to get the hang of it.
But I got a lot of writing done, which is good; I was feeling stagnation for a bit there, but three thousand words later and two cups of joe, I’m rollin’, homies!
And I am still so very, very white.

That is, by far, the coolest thing I’ve heard today. I think. And stop being an art critique… what did you think of the painting? Not, ‘was it good or not’ but ‘do I like it or not’ They can be two very different things… So what was it like.. and did you like that?
I love that artist’s work but I’ve never actually seen him there painting. I go there every week I come back from Hamilton but I’ve never actually seen this elusive man.
He’s in there practically every time I go, either on his laptop, or sketching, and now painting. And he’s quite good.
Maybe you’re not just at the right Starbucks :)
